Abstract

In medical imaging, measures such as detective quantum efficiency (DQE) and noise equivalent quanta (NEQ) are used to evaluate image quality. DQE is a key metric for image quality and detector performance. This paper computes the DQE of two screen-films—Lanex Regular/T-Mat G/RA and Lanex Regular/T-Mat L/RA—based on MTF and NPS data. Gamma was derived from characteristic curves, and photon flounce estimated using standard references. The analysis was done for optical densities 0.7, 1.0, and 1.5. Results show that Lanex Regular/T-Mat G/RA demonstrates better DQE, particularly at low spatial frequencies, due to superior MTF and higher gamma values.
