The study focuses on monitoring Dust Storm Index (DSI) and Lancaster index at Mehrabad meteorological station in Tehran. Meteorological data including temperature, humidity, rainfall, and evaporation were analyzed over a 30-year period. The DSI and Lancaster indices were calculated and assessed for their relationship with dust and sand storm activity. Findings indicate that years with high temperature and evaporation, combined with low rainfall and humidity, correlate with elevated values of DSI and Lancaster indices. This suggests a strong influence of climate on dust storm frequency and sand dune mobility.
