This study investigates seasonal fluctuations in geogenic radionuclide levels in sand and rock samples from the Tyaa River in Kitui County, Kenya. A total of 56 samples were collected across rainy and dry seasons. Gamma-ray spectrometric analysis showed higher activity concentrations of 226Ra, 232Th, and 40K in samples taken during the dry season. The study also evaluated dose rates and radiological indices such as radium equivalent activity and hazard indices. Results showed higher radiological values during the dry season but remained within permissible safety limits. The findings provide insight into the variability of natural radioactivity in building materials due to seasonal factors.
