This paper critically examines Einstein’s mental experiment known as the Principle of Equivalence, which attempts to equate gravitational and inertial forces within accelerated frames of reference. Through logical reasoning and illustrative examples, the author argues that such equivalence is conceptually flawed. The discussion centers on differences between contact and attraction forces and the improper application of Newtonian laws in accelerated systems. Logical fallacies arising from this mental model are identified, and the conclusion challenges the justification for generalizing relativity based on such assumptions.
